This page outlines my approach to book reviews, advance reader copies (ARCs), beta reading, and promotional feedback. It is designed to ensure clarity, fairness, and transparency for readers, reviewers, and collaborators.
I welcome honest reviews and appreciate every reader who takes the time to share their thoughts.
Honest and Independent Reviews
I encourage reviewers to express their genuine opinions. I do not request positive reviews, specific ratings, or favourable commentary.
All reviews — positive, mixed, or critical — are valued and help readers make informed choices.
Advance Reader Copies (ARCs)
From time to time, I may provide ARCs for early review. When receiving an ARC:
- You are under no obligation to leave a review.
- You may review the book on any platform you choose.
- You may decline to review without explanation.
- You may not share, distribute, or upload the ARC file.
- You may not quote unpublished text without permission.
ARCs are provided for personal reading only.
Beta Reading
Beta reading is separate from reviewing. Beta readers provide developmental feedback before publication and may be asked to comment on:
- Character arcs
- Pacing
- Plot clarity
- Representation
- Emotional impact
Beta readers agree not to share or distribute unpublished material.
Participation is voluntary and unpaid.
Compensation and Gifts
I do not offer payment, gifts, incentives, or financial rewards in exchange for reviews.
If I ever run a giveaway or promotional event, participation will not require leaving a review.
Spoilers and Sensitive Content
Reviewers are kindly asked to:
- Mark spoilers clearly
- Avoid revealing major twists without warning
- Refer readers to my Reader Advisory & Content Notes page for detailed content information
This helps maintain a positive experience for all readers.
Use of Reviewer Quotes
If you leave a review, I may request permission to quote a short excerpt for marketing purposes (e.g., on my website or book pages). I will never use your words without your explicit consent.
Respectful Conduct
I ask reviewers to engage respectfully with me and with other readers. I reserve the right to decline collaboration with individuals who engage in harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour.
